Meet Our Team

The CivicEye Journey

CivicEye got its start providing purpose-built management software to Police Departments in upstate New York back in 2007, originally operating under the name J2 Software, and later as Agisent Technologies.

Fast forward to today, we have renamed the company to CivicEye, and are based in Charlotte, North Carolina. We have deployed our software to over 95 public safety and criminal justice agencies and clients across the country and have continued to innovate and enhance our public safety technology solutions.

Along the way, we’ve built a deep understanding of the challenges and needs of law enforcement, courts, and prosecutors, while continuously adding industry experts to our team. This has included a company President who completed a long career as a police officer, a former Deputy Police Chief to lead customer relations, and the appointment of former intelligence and law enforcement professionals to Board and Advisory roles.

We’ve combined this in-house criminal justice system expertise with experienced technologists and product specialists to develop an unrivaled cloud-based software platform that includes innovative, high-speed, and user-friendly end-to-end records management and data aggregation systems. Today, CivicEye’s cloud software platform provides: Law Enforcement RMS (CivicRMS), Prosecutor Case Management (CivicCase), and Judicial Document Management (CivicDocs). 

Over the past decade, we deployed our first fusion software platform statewide to the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division, closing gaps in state-level data aggregation and background check processes on the heels of critical public policy changes. In addition, CivicEye’s prosecutor document and case management software became essential tools throughout Tennessee, where the entire Tennessee District Attorney General’s Conference adopted this digital infrastructure. 

In 2021, we brought in a seasoned Chief Executive Officer with a passion for civic partnerships and an extensive background in building and scaling businesses in the government technology sector. As a result, CivicEye has attracted significant institutional funding and proven management team members to accelerate the growth of its already established product and intelligently scale its adoption across the United States. As part of this major expansion of talent, capabilities, and products, we relaunched the company as “CivicEye – the Platform for Public Safety.” 

At CivicEye, we understand the software fragmentation in the market, the growing digital divide between suburban and rural communities, and the various departments contained therein. We are focused daily on simplifying the criminal justice process by providing the most advanced records management system that spans end-to-end across the entire criminal justice spectrum—encompassing law enforcement agencies, prosecutors, courts, and jails.
